Protecting Your Digital Assets

Earlier, I wrote an entry about New Year’s Resolutions and estate planning.  I would like to add to that post by expanding on digital protections in estate planning.  Josh Robbins, an attorney at Carter Clunan & Robbins LLC, wrote a blog post last year titled, “Estate Planning: Protecting Your Digital Assets.”  His four step approach suggests:

  1. Identify your digital assets,
  2. Figure out how the digital assets are stored and protected,
  3. Determine what should happen to your assets upon death, and
  4. Meet with an estate planning attorney.

You can read more about legal issues that impact a family by going to the Robbins Legal Blog here.
